Travel Diary Maldives Day 03: Turtle Reef - Sand Bank - Dolphin Watching

On Day 03, we went on an excursion to Turtle Reef and Sand Bank. In the evening, we went on parasailing. After dinner, we enjoyed the night lying on hammock while listening to Maldivian song.

After having breakfast at the hotel, we went on a snorkeling excursion to four snorkeling point: the Turtle Reef—we managed to swim with turtle, Palm Reef, Nemo point/shark point and another point near Anantara Veli Maldives Resort —was tempted to go to the sea swing, but it's only for hotel guest.

The boat crews were really friendly and they took extra care of those who can't swim, that's me! If you do not know how to swim, or even paddle your feet under the water. Worry not, the crew will snorkel with you. All you need to do is breath through the snorkel and hold on tight to your snorkel guide.

I managed to see Marlin (Clownfish), Nemo (Clownfish), Crush (Turtle), Gill (Moorish idol) and Peach (Starfish)—you know who they are if you watch Finding Nemo.

We arrived Sand Bank at twelve to have our lunch. It was part of the excursion. We were the first group of people who arrive at Sand Bank that day, there were no other people and it was the very best time to take pictures. We quickly snap pictures before other groups arrived.

We had lunch that was pre-packed from the hotel. There were nothing else you can do at Sand Bank except swimming or playing with sand. After lunch, the boyfriend went to pick up some sand and shells to bring it home to Malaysia as souvenir for his friends. It sounded silly but trust me, that is the cheapest way to bring souvenir home.

After lunch, we went to another snorkeling point before heading back to Maafushi Island.

Continue from Travel Diary Maldives Day 02: Water Sports Activities in Maafushi Island, we walked to the north of the island again for parasailing. The whole parasailing took about 10 minutes and I managed to see dolphins jumping and playing from above. The sun was like a celestial fireball in the sky, I could not bare the heat and the glaze so I ended the activity before the time was up.

We return to Maafushi and managed to catch the sunset. We had an awful BBQ dinner the night before so we did not wanted to try any other restaurant and we went back to the dinner place we went on Day 01.

We walked back to our hotel after dinner and along the way, we saw hammocks. There were only two hammocks, we took turn and enjoy the night while listening to Maldivian song playing at the background. We then return to our respective room and called it a day.
